ETELE Plaza

ETELE Plaza, Hungary’s first smart shopping centre, welcomes visitors in Kelenföld, in the immediate vicinity of Etele Square, with an outstanding retail and service offering complemented by unique digital and architectural solutions.

The exterior appearance of ETELE Plaza is defined by the dynamic interplay of elegant box-like structures and Hungary’s largest continuous glass façade. Featuring a spacious food court level with direct terrace access and a green roof, the complex represents the latest generation of shopping centre design. The 55,000 sqm leasable retail and entertainment destination offers, in addition to a diverse retail mix, a supermarket, restaurants, cafés, a fitness centre, a children’s play area and a wide range of services. Etele Cinema, operating within the plaza, elevates the movie-going experience to a new level.

The building is located at Hungary’s largest multimodal transportation hub and can be reached directly from the city centre in as little as 10 minutes. Positioned at the intersection of Kelenföld Railway Station, Metro Line 4 and the capital’s inbound section of the M1–M7 motorways, the shopping centre attracts tens of thousands of visitors daily from Budapest, the metropolitan area and regional cities easily accessible via the multimodal transport hub. ETELE Plaza’s primary catchment area is one of Budapest’s most densely populated districts, home to approximately 235,000 residents. The local population benefits from purchasing power at 125% of the national average, combined with previously relatively limited retail supply.

In line with the stringent requirements of the BREEAM In-Use Outstanding certification, special emphasis was placed on ensuring easy accessibility, minimising light pollution and direct environmental impact, incorporating durable materials and promoting waste reuse during the development of ETELE Plaza. In accordance with the certification standards, tenants also prioritised sustainability in the fit-out of their stores. The environmentally conscious shopping and entertainment centre features nearly 4,000 sqm of landscaped green areas, where colourful plantings, ornamental grasses, shrubs and trees create a welcoming environment for visitors.
