Digital biopharma research and development R&D company Turbine has set up its brand-new headquarters in the Corvin Innovation Campus on a nearly 1,300 sqm area.

Turbine uses deep learning algorithms at its new headquarters to make the often decades-long, challenging drug development process more efficient and successful. Since its founding, the company has been developing its “Simulated Cell” technology, a patented and cutting-edge system for running and testing billions of cell simulations before any laboratory experiment begins. The company aims to develop the most effective cancer drugs for currently difficult-to-treat cancer types in collaboration with several leading drug research companies.

The nine-story Corvin Innovation Campus, equipped with environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions, is the ideal space for medical technology breakthroughs. Futureal has designed the office building to positively impact the health and well-being of its employees. The building has Well Platinum, and the highest Breeam Excellent sustainability ratings, as well as one of the highest energy certifications: AA+.

Paradigma Ariadné architects designed Turbine’s new headquarters to take advantage of the contiguous free space at each office level, resulting in a creative floor plan with large geometric shapes. The three pillars in the office space were transformed into visual elements, two of which are covered in color and one of which comes to life as a large luminous body.

“In addition to sustainable solutions, the excellent transportation links, landscaped courtyard and flexible, pet-friendly office spaces all encouraged us to set our headquarters in Corvin Innovation Campus. It was essential for us to integrate both lab-based and AI-based digital research in a modern space that allows us to continue growing,” said Anna Török-Böröcz, Turbine’s HR manager.

The 16,650 sqm first-phase of Corvin Innovation Campus—located at the intersection of Szigony utca, Tömő utca, Apáthy István utca and Balassa utca—is also home to IBM Hungary’s new head office. The intelligent building management system that ensures the optimal operation of the mechanical and electrical systems and the low-carbon and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems are entirely standard in the complex. The building features solar panels and a low-carbon smart parking system. Ten per cent of the parking spaces have been equipped with electric chargers.

“The Corvin Innovation Campus is attractive for local and international companies due to its modern solutions and unique location. Many universities are within walking distance, making the area a true knowledge hub. This is one of the reasons why the office building reached 70 per cent occupancy at the time of opening and has been continuously filled with new tenants ever since,” emphasized János Berki J., director of international office leasing and property management at Futureal.

Thanks to the Corvin Promenade, the area offers complete retail, dining, sports facilities, and a full range of services. The office building will have more bike storage facilities, separate showers and lockers, and a café for the convenience of employees and guests.

As part of Futureal’s Stay Safe initiative, common areas at Corvin Innovation Campus are almost entirely contactless. Automatic doors, light switches with card sensors, and safe distance signs are all featured in the building. Based on their decision during check-in, the above-average-size elevators take employees and visitors to the correct floor without the need to touch a button. The restrooms are equipped with contactless rinsing, hand washing, and soap dispensers.
