What should we expect in the Hungarian housing market in a year’s time?

Many people are wondering how long the current housing market standstill will last? What would it take for sales and housing figures to start rising again? In what direction will house prices move in the upcoming year?

According to Áron Görög, the sales director of Cordia, within the underperforming construction industry, the quickest way to activate the sector is through supported green loans. If these could be used for properties with A or A+ energy ratings, due for completion by the end of 2024 or in 2025, it would immediately stimulate the market, without burdening the budget until later, and additionally, it wouldn’t lead to a deficit thanks to VAT revenues.
