Modena 1

Hungary’s leading residential developer is continuing its international expansion in Poland with a large scale urban regeneration project. Cordia has acquired a plot of over 21 000 m2 located in the centre of Poznan. The plot was once the home of the Modena garment factory, which has been closed for some time but is well known throughout Poland.

Located on the banks of the Warta River, Poznan is the oldest city in Poland and the fifth most populous settlement, with 570 000 inhabitants.

The size and scale of this venture make it far more than a simple residential project. Instead, it is about regenerating an entire neighbourhood in the heart of the city centre. Cordia has already completed many successful projects of this type in Hungary, including the award-winning regeneration of Corvin Promenade in Budapest.

The Poznan development will see the creation of a new quarter that mixes residential and commercial functions. The multifunctional complex will be built around an existing avenue of grand sycamore trees. The area will be divided between public zones, which enable access to services located on the ground floors of the buildings, and private zones, which can only be accessed by residents.

The first phase of the regeneration process will begin in 2021 and is scheduled for completion in 2023. The complex will be developed in close cooperation with the offices responsible for the conservation of monuments, municipal authorities and social organisations responsible for maintaining the historic character of Modena.
